Brian Eno Calls On Backing to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The project aims to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It has a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of musicians contributing to Lullaby features a group of prominent voices from the scene. All participated in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a team of producers and composers. The track features a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The team running the initiative have clarified that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These donations will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the area was noted for its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is primarily making this cause better known and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The track is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
