The Red Bull team has announced significant changes for the 2026 Grand Prix year, moving up French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and giving 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first F1 drive. Lindblad, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, is set to become team-mate to Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the second team Racing Bulls. This driver musical chairs results in Japan's Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid after five seasons. A Star in the Making Arvid Lindblad took part in first practice for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix this year. The youngster was tagged as a rising talent by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Regarding the company's young driver programme, a key advisor noted last year that Lindblad "appears very talented", praising his "raw pace". Red Bull has been working for some time to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City. Lindblad stated it was a "proud moment", commenting: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm eager to work closely with the team and rise to it. I am incredibly excited to get started." Lindblad has taken two races in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi. A Major Opportunity for Hadjar Isack Hadjar enjoys his first podium in F1, secured at the Dutch Grand Prix this season. Hadjar's F1 career started on a low note when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive rookies this season. His performances included an outstanding podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the championship. A senior team figure commented: "Isack has shown impressive growth and proved to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can excel alongside Max." The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "up for the challenge". The Lawson Decision For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda. The New Zealander began the season with the senior squad but was demoted early in the year. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, persuading Red Bull he deserves another season. The Japanese driver, in contrast, loses his place after a disappointing season. His best result is a P6, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's points total. The driver market moves mean that there remains no spot on the Red Bull academy for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
