Both have been linked with the manager's job at the Premiership title holders following Brendan Rodgers' departure on Monday. The Manager's Stance on Celtic The Ipswich boss referred to Celtic as "an enormous soccer institution" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town. The mid-thirties assumed control of Ipswich in 2021 and led them to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they won just four games last campaign as they were relegated back to the Championship and they currently sit 12th in the Championship. "I have not had such conversations," the London-born former Irish youth international said when questioned about being on the candidate list. "This isn't a matter I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is currently. "I have a unique position here at a special club. And we're at a really important stage of the campaign. Anything external hasn't touched my awareness." Background and Agreement Details Reports indicate that McKenna would be open to speaking to the Scottish side given his childhood support. "Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when asked about these. "I don't think all people has to go around and announce what they used to be, but naturally it's a really big football club." McKenna signed a fresh multi-year deal in last year and was questioned about his alleged £5m release clause. "Throughout coaching agreements, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what mine are and, were I informed, I wouldn't disclose you anyway! "I tackle this role like I'll be Town's coach indefinitely. I know that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I will consistently do my best as long as I remain in position." Bellamy's Situation Bellamy played for Celtic on temporary transfer from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Welsh forward is inclined to finish the current World Cup campaign, a stance that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from assuming the Celtic job. The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their qualifying group behind group toppers the Red Devils and runners-up North Macedonia. Victories over the minnows and North Macedonia in November would book their position in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but guaranteed of reaching that stage, thanks to a successful European competition campaign, even if they not end up Group J runners-up.
